in the late-1800s.

Answers

Answer 1

Answer:

TWO ways that Reconstruction-era reforms impacted African Americans socially and TWO ways they impacted them economically in the late-1800s.

Explanation:

Reconstruction-era reforms impacted African Americans socially as the Freedman's Bureau was created to help new freed African Americans adjust to freedom.  They helped them register marriages, negotiated labor contracts and built more than 3,000 schools along with trained teachers. Three Amendments were added to the constitution, 13th outlawed slavery and involuntary servitude, 14th established that al persons born in the US are citizens, 15th prohibited states from denying the right to vote based on race pr previous condition of servitude. African Americans participated in Reconstruction governments.  They were elected to state, local and national positions.

Economically, they were weakened as crops had been destroyed, land had been left unattended with the Civil War and much of the infrastructure had been damaged. This changed the labor system and brought in sharecropping, tenant farming which trapped African Americans in to a cycle of debt.  They were essentially tied to the farm as laws made it difficult for sharecroppers to sell their own cotton and the contracts and laws favored the landlords. This brought on Jim Crow laws and established legal segregation.

Answers

Answer:

The Mexican Revolution, which began in 1910, ended dictatorship in Mexico and established a constitutional republic. A number of groups, led by revolutionaries including Francisco Madero, Pascual Orozco, Pancho Villa and Emiliano Zapata, participated in the long and costly conflict. Though a constitution drafted in 1917 formalized many of the reforms sought by rebel groups, periodic violence continued into the 1930s.

What would make the Selective Service begin requiring women to register?

Answers

Answer:

The selective service could require women to register if there was a war that required an increase in troops, or the occupation of certain specific positions.

Explanation:

As we know, women are not required to carry out military conscription and, therefore, are not recruited into the army, however there are situations in which women can be called up required in the army. This happened, for example, in the second world war, when it was necessary for women to occupy certain positions on the battlefield, such as nurses, drivers, mechanics, among others. This happened mainly in England, where only women with deponent children were exempt from the summons.

In other words, we can say that the Selective Service would summon women in a war situation, where they were absolutely necessary.

Why didn't the bill of rights make slavery unconstitutional?

Answers

Answer:

The 13th Amendment to the United States Constitution did not end slavery. In fact, it is the first time the word "slavery" was ever mentioned in the Constitution and it is in this amendment where it is not abolished once and for all as we were taught, but given the constitutional protection that has maintained the practice of American slavery in various forms to this very day.

The entire 13th Amendment, one of the most well-known of our entire Constitution, is just 47 words long. It could literally fit on a Post-it note. Yet, about a third of those words aren't about ending slavery, but are shockingly about how and when slavery could receive a wink and a nod to continue. Before the 13th Amendment was ratified, scores of publications and speeches the world over were published by abolitionists describing the horrors of slavery and why the institution must die.

Slavery never ended in this country. The 13th Amendment didn't end it, but simply forced it to change form and structure. It may look and feel different, but please understand the effects are very much the same. People in power still say those in the system deserve to be there — just like they did 150 years ago. Escaping the system, once and for all, for those who serve their time, is nearly impossible — with society doing everything it can to make a quick return to prison a painfully easy path.

O C. The creation of NATO

O D. The forced migration of people to Eastern Europe

Answers

Answer: A. Rapid increase of food prices

When there was a shortage of food in Europe, the markets responded by increasing the prices of food.

This obeyed the Law of Supply which states that all else being equal, the supply of a good is inversely related to it's price. This means that the lower the supply, the higher the price (and vice versa) in order to cater for the scarcity.

The British Raj, often known as Crown Rule in India or Direct Rule in India, was the British Crown's rule over the Indian subcontinent from 1858 to 1947. Between 1757 and 1947, or around 200 years of British occupancy, the Indian subcontinent was under British rule, or the British Raj. 1. The first president under the Constitution, George Washington, in his Farewell Address warned against forming political parties, but his immediate successors didn't listen. John Adams (Federalist) and Thomas Jefferson (Democratic-Republican) fought bitter contests in 1796 (Adams won) and 1800 (Jefferson won). It is the natural instinct of politicians to align with like-minded individuals and want to govern based on ideology rather than to just solve problems one-by-one as they arise. Because the first time two people had a discussion about politics and decided to cooperate toward common goals, in effect the first political party was formed. That’s all a party is.

2. The federalists believed in a strong central government and its proactive involvement in commerce. In general, the federalists were elitists who opposed measures to democratize American politics. In the realm of international relations, federalists were admirers of Great Britain and detractors of the French.

Compare how African Americans and in the were by the of Reconstruction?

Answers

Answer:

The Emancipation Proclamation in 1863 freed African Americans in rebel states, and after the Civil War, the Thirteenth Amendment emancipated all U.S. slaves wherever they were. As a result, the mass of Southern blacks now faced the difficulty Northern blacks had confronted—that of a free people surrounded by many hostile whites. One freedman, Houston Hartsfield Holloway, wrote, “For we colored people did not know how to be free and the white people did not know how to have a free colored person about them.”

Even after the Emancipation Proclamation, two more years of war, service by African American troops, and the defeat of the Confederacy, the nation was still unprepared to deal with the question of full citizenship for its newly freed black population. The Reconstruction implemented by Congress, which lasted from 1866 to 1877, was aimed at reorganizing the Southern states after the Civil War, providing the means for readmitting them into the Union, and defining the means by which whites and blacks could live together in a nonslave society. The South, however, saw Reconstruction as a humiliating, even vengeful imposition and did not welcome it.

During the years after the war, black and white teachers from the North and South, missionary organizations, churches and schools worked tirelessly to give the emancipated population the opportunity to learn. Former slaves of every age took advantage of the opportunity to become literate. Grandfathers and their grandchildren sat together in classrooms seeking to obtain the tools of freedom.

After the Civil War, with the protection of the Thirteenth, Fourteenth, and Fifteenth Amendments to the Constitution and the Civil Rights Act of 1866, African Americans enjoyed a period when they were allowed to vote, actively participate in the political process, acquire the land of former owners, seek their own employment, and use public accommodations. Opponents of this progress, however, soon rallied against the former slaves' freedom and began to find means for eroding the gains for which many had shed their blood.
