Do you agree with the practices of the majority of U.S. adults, who use physical punishment to discipline their children? Has your opinion changed as a result of studying child development ? Explain

Answers

Personally I think that physical punishment to a degree is okay but not excessive physical punishment. I think that over use of this type of punishments could lead to problems.
I think physical punishment has a negative impact on a child especially at a young age. Let’s say you discipline you young child he’s 7 you punish him in a physical way that going to impact the way he sees discipline. As he grows up he might remember this is a harsher way. And then when he has kid the physical discipline could possible be worse then the discipline you provided. (This is just my personal opinion and how I would answer the question)

Okay, this has nothing to do with school, but, how do you know that a guy likes you?

Answers

Answer: he is very awkward around you all of a sudden and he shows off around you more than usually, hope this helps

Answer:

That depends on the person (or guy). There are different types.

Some guys show it without even needing to say it, just reading their body language and how they interact with you is one way to tell.Other guys have a way with hiding how they feel for people and making it unnoticeable, making it much harder to tell if they like you or not, but if you listen closely to what they say and how they say it, it may give you a hint.

But that's all I really know, hope that can help you a bit! ^^

Which of the following identifies how obesity is determined?
o comparison of weight with recommendations by age
calculation using weight and age
calculation using weight and height
o comparison of weight with national averages

Answers

Answer:

The answer is the second option!

Explanation:

Obesity cannot be determined by "recommendations by age," since it is only a series of facts that is provided by a professional medical worker. It also cannot be determined by "height" because that is not one of the characteristics of the subject itself. And also, it is not determined by "national averages," without having to provide an explanation.

Answer:  calculation using weight and height

Explanation:    Obesity is determined according to one’s BMI, or body mass index, which is a calculation of weight and height. People with body mass indexes of 30 percent or higher are considered obese.

There are many methods of measuring and understanding brain activity and how it affects other parts of the body as well as thoughts and feelings. Describe each of the following methods of measuring during activity. Be sure to explain what is being measured and what immediate advantage or disadvantage are.
Electroencephalogram (EEG)
CT scan
PET scan
MRI
fMRI

Answers

EEG- A test used to evaluate the electrical activity in the brain. Brain cells communicate with each other through electrical impulses.
CT scan- They can show the soft tissues, blood vessels, and bones in various parts of the body.
PET scan- An imaging test that helps reveal how your tissues and organs are functioning.
MRI- MRI scanners use strong magnetic fields, magnetic field gradients, and radio waves to generate images of the organs in the body.
fMRI- By detecting the changes in blood oxygenation and flow that occur in response to neural activity – when a brain area is more active it consumes more oxygen and to meet this increased demand blood flow increases to the active area.

Answer:

xxx

Explanation:

There are five methods of measuring brain activity that will be discussed. To begin, we have an Electroencephalogram, also known as an EEG. The EEG is useful when looking for abnormalities in the brain waves. Electrodes consisting of small metal discs with thin wires are pasted onto your scalp. The EEG has advantages, it helps screen for seizures or epilepsy, and has the ability to see brain activity as it's happening. The one really big disadvantage is that it's difficult to find where in the brain the activity is coming from. The next method is a CT scan, which stands for computed tomography is a whole-body scan that is typically used for finding problems with bones or tumors. The machine takes X-ray photos of you from all different angles. The advantages include very detailed images, and they can image bone, soft tissue, and blood vessels all at the same time. The disadvantages outweigh the advantages in my opinion. Unless the scan is crucial, I don't think subjecting the body to radiation when it's not necessary is the best way to go. In addition, we have a PET scan, which is a positron emission tomography. This scan is used when doctors want to make sure all your tissue and organs are functioning correctly, and sometimes used to detect disease. Advantages include, quick, painless, and nondisruptive. The disadvantage however is the same as a CT, which is the intense, high exposure of radiation. Radiation should be avoided at all costs. Following, an MRI, standing for magnetic resonance imaging. An imaging technique used in radiology to form pictures using a strong magnetic field, and radio waves to receive images of organs in the body. Advantages, MRI provides better soft-tissue contrast in comparison to a CT and no radiation involved. However, an MRI is very expensive, and not as good for looking at tumors. Lastly, fMRI, a functional MRI measures brain activity by detecting changes associated with blood flow. The big advantage is that the fMRI doesn't use radiation, along with it evaluating brain function safely, noninvasively, and effectively. A few disadvantages include, the person must remain still in order to capture a clear image, this technique is expensive compared to other options, and a 5-second lag between initial neural activity and image.

In the 21st century, with an intensely competitive consumer market, advertisers increasingly used digital technology to call greater attention to products. In 2009, for example, the world's first video advertisements to be embedded in a print publication appeared in Entertainment Weekly magazine. The thin battery-powered screen implanted in the page could store up to 40 minutes of video via chip technology and automatically began to play when the reader opened the page. For an advertisement to be effective, its production and placement must be based on a knowledge of the public and a skilled use of the media. Advertising agencies serve to orchestrate complex campaigns whose strategies of media use are based on research into consumer behavior and demographic analysis of the market area. A strategy will combine creativity in the production of the advertising messages with canny scheduling and placement, so that the messages are seen by, and will have an effect on, the people the advertiser most wants to address. Given a fixed budget, advertisers face a basic choice: they can have their message seen or heard by many people fewer times, or by fewer people many times. This and other strategic decisions are made in light of tests of the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. There is no dispute over the power of advertising to inform consumers of what products are available. In a free-market economy effective advertising is essential to a company's survival, for unless consumers know about a company's product they are unlikely to buy it. In criticism of advertising it has been argued that the consumer must pay for the cost of advertising in the form of higher prices for goods; against this point it is argued that advertising enables goods to be mass marketed, thereby bringing prices down. It has been argued that the cost of major advertising campaigns is such that few firms can afford them, thus helping these firms to dominate the market; on the other hand, whereas smaller firms may not be able to compete with larger ones at a national level, advertising at the local level or online enables them to hold their own. Finally, it has been argued that advertisers exercise an undue influence over the regular contents of the media they employ--the editorial stance of a newspaper or the subject of a television show. In response it has been pointed out that such influence is counteracted, at least in the case of financially strong media firms, by the advertiser's reliance on the media to convey a message; any compromise of the integrity of a media firm might result in a smaller audience for the advertising. For the assessment, you will write an objective summary of the article. Additionally, you will make an inference about the relationship between advertising and the price you pay for a product and/or service. What is the molar mass of Mg(ClO4)2? Please help thank you!
