In the pacific war alone America lost almost 170,000 lives. With the soviet union being in the war it made the rival side stronger. The war needed to end as quickly as possible. The war would have lasted longer and the death toll would have been higher.
The lives of Japanese people have been affected forever and a mass death loss. The bomb attack killed hundreds of thousands of people, and the effect continued to the next generation. Innocent lives were taken as a result of the war. Many Japanese children were born with genetic defects because of the nuclear explosion.
