PLEASE HELP 60 POINTS!!!!! I NEED 3 PARAGRAPHS!!! Write an argumentative essay for or against setting long-term goals to land a dream job.

Answers

Answer:

There has been an explosion of coaches everywhere recently. Life coaches, business coaches… We may or may not take them seriously, but there is something we must know. Most, if not all of them, be it famous ones or not-so-famous ones, agree at one valuable point: goals are indispensable. Short-term as well as long-term goals are the key the achieving a more successful life.

What professionals such as Tony Robbins claim is that having goals will provide you with a direction in life. The steps you take will gain value as to whether or not they take you any closer to those goals. If they don’t, the best thing to do would be to evaluate how they can be changed or even left out and substituted for more efficient ones. Robbins, in his books and seminars, constantly tells the story of how he wrote down every single thing he wanted to achieve in life along with the actions he would take to do so – and how he did indeed achieve all of those things.

When it comes to landing that beautiful – and profitable – dream job, setting a long-term goal can certainly direct your actions. If you choose to focus only on the short-term aspects of work and professional development, odds are that you will end up near-sighted. You will only work hard at things that can bring you immediate compensation. Those things are not naturally going to land the dream job. They will keep you alive, pay bills and buy some food, but won’t necessarily satisfy the requisites to get to the top, whatever that can mean to you.

If you do choose to have a long-term goal that is dream-job related, chances are that you will choose different paths. You will not see that ten-month course as a waste of time, since it will give you useful skills. You will spend your money more wisely, viewing it more as an investment than as a necessary evil. You will gain a new perspective of what time means and develop the sense that immediacy is overrated.

There are those who call themselves realistic or, more honestly, pessimistic. They may claim that setting long-term goals is nothing but a recipe to feeling like a failure. Truth be told, it is indeed possible that you won’t achieve every single thing you wish for. That is a reality not only for you, but for everyone else on this planet. However, not achieving something should not be a synonym for failure. It can mean some rethinking is important, some assessing needs to be done, a new plan should be concocted. Great minds’ goals, such as Elon Musk, are not only long term but also ambitious. And if they fail on their way, they find the means to try again, now with improved knowledge from the previously failed experience.

Tony Robbins says that “most people overestimate what they can do in a year, and underestimate what they can do in a decade”. That is the real recipe for failure: seeing time as a factor of stress and pressure instead of an ally. By giving yourself a grand goal and a good amount of time to do it – such as landing the dream job in five to ten years -, you are being more realistic than you would be by either giving up altogether or trying to do it impossibly quickly.

Which sentence contains an example of hyperbole?
Inaugural Address
by John F. Kennedy, January 20, 1961 (excerpt)
Let the word go forth from this time and place, to friend and foe alike, that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans-
born in this century, tempered by war, disciplined by a hard and bitter peace, proud of our ancient heritage—and unwilling to witness or
permit the slow undoing of those human rights to which this nation has always been committed, and to which we are committed today at
home and around the world.
Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any
friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty.
This much we pledge-and more.
To those old allies whose cultural and spiritual origins we share, we pledge the loyalty of faithful friends. United there is little we cannot
do in a host of cooperative ventures. Divided there is little we can do-for we dare not meet a powerful challenge at odds and split
asunder

Answers

Answer:

A.To establish the idea that the main characters were living in an ideal fairytale existence

Explanation:

In Once Upon A Time by Nadine Gordimer, the purpose of the narrator beginning her story with the family living "happily ever after?" is to show that such was not realistic and also to use irony, even as it is shown in the title of the book.

The author began the book like this:

"In a house, in a suburb, in a city, there were a man and his wife who loved each other very much and were living happily ever after"

This shows that the main characters were living in an ideal fairytale existence.

(2) Not so much information would have to be crammed into nine months. (3) Furthermore, the elimination of long breaks, particularly summer break, would significantly reduce "learning loss” and the additional time wasted at the beginning of each academic year to reteach previously learned material. (4) It is clear that year-round schooling helps students learn and retain more. (5) The United States is not the only country to experiment with a year-round school schedule. (6) Although many still claim that evidence about year-round school and its link to higher achievement is inconclusive, these people need to open their eyes and see that students in these schools consistently score higher on certain assessments than students who attend schools with traditional nine-month calendars. Can someone read over and edit and Critique my College essay?

My Essay:

It first began with salsa on mango packed for lunch on an early morning in fourth grade. While I spent all day looking forward to my ethnic snack, I was instead faced with a feeling of embarrassment after watching my classmates laugh at the wild food combinations they were not familiar with. While I have always attended school in Washington, I spent a lot of my youth in Mexico. Therefore, expressing my culture and educating others about my background has always been one of my favorite pastimes. I am confident and proud of embracing my culture.
Additionally, being bilingual has made it possible for me to help others communicate, but most importantly help my mother, who immigrated to the U.S. after marrying my father. Due to my father constantly working one job during the day and another during the night in order to support our family, I spent most of my time with my mother, who did not speak English. Therefore, Spanish is my first language, and I did not learn English until after beginning school.
I was given the responsibility of doing almost all of the talking for my mother from an incredibly young age. For as long as I can remember, I have been translating at my mother's doctor appointments, ordering food, and being my mother's form of communication here in America. Although I have gained many new communication skills and been exposed to new experiences early on as a result of this, it took years for me to recognize this growth. It was difficult to assume independence from quite a young age. I envied those who could ask their parents for help with homework and did not have to translate on a daily basis. I struggled to fit it in at school and would constantly feel as if I was in my own box even during extracurriculars. I could not understand the traditions my classmates were so familiar with and began to feel embarrassed about my background. I would never wish the feeling of not knowing where you belong onto anyone. I have used these experiences as a lesson to help teach me to be more open minded about other people’s cultures and learn to be comfortable with my own identity.
However, I recognize negative effects of this as well. As a result of having to grow up faster than a typical child and being independent from a young age, I struggled asking others for help. As I grew older and my coursework increased in difficulty this inability to reach out became an even bigger battle. This not only played into my education but affected my sports as well. After doing competitive gymnastics since sixth grade, which served as a great distraction from hard days which seemed to be more often than not, I decided that I need to begin prioritizing my mental health as well as my education. However, I recognized that I still had a heart for the sport and longed to reach others through this. After taking a short break, I began coaching. There is nothing I can compare to the joy that I watch my students confidently stride and grasp their goals. I reflected on my personal longing for mentorship and guidance as a child and fueled this into my passion for the sport of gymnastics, and my desire to be this influence for others. I am fulfilled by being there for these students because I recognize that they have at least one place where they can be completely authentic to themselves and have someone they know is willing to help them both within the gym and beyond. This leadership has helped me learn to cope with my experiences in a positive manner and appreciate my background that has led me here.
