animal's body is
water?
15%
75%
45%
90%
Answer: an easier distribution of body fluids to remember is the 60:40:20 rule: 60% of body weight is water, 40% of body weight is ICF, and 20% of body weight is ECF (see Fig. 1-1). Many clinicians use 20% as an estimate for ECF when calculating fluid therapy needs for their patients.

Index fossils come from types of organisms that lived during only a relatively short period of time, were abundant, and
were widespread geographically. Index fossils can therefore used to determine the relative age of rocks found in
different areas. Index fossils help to match

B)
rock layers from different areas.
plants to the animal life that ate them
D)
sedimentary rocks with igneous rocks formed at the same time.

how did eukaryotic cells evolve prokaryotic cells?
Answer:
The hypothesis that eukaryotic cells evolved from a symbiotic association of prokaryotes (endosymbiosis) is particularly well supported by studies of mitochondria and chloroplasts, which are thought to have evolved from bacteria living in large cells.
Explanation:
Both mitochondria and chloroplasts are similar to bacteria in size, and like bacteria, they reproduce by dividing in two.

Electrodes work with a sort of "echo" process, where they emit a tiny electrical pulse then receive a responding pulse from the heart
True or False?
Answer:
true
Explanation:
i looked in my book for this
Electrodes work with a sort of "echo" process, where they emit a tiny electrical pulse and then receive a responding pulse from the heart, and this is a true statement regarding the heart.
What is the heart's electrical signal? The heart has the SA node that autonomously originates the signal, and then the AV nodes receive that, and then the signals are transmitted to the ventricle and the heart contracts. In this process, the heart's electrical signal travels through the atrium and ventricle, and when the device measures the signal, the tiny electrical pulse is received by the device, which shows the electrical nature of the heart.
Hence, electrodes work with a sort of "echo" process, where they emit a tiny electrical pulse and then receive a responding pulse from the heart, and this is a true statement regarding the heart.

Where does energy first come into an ecosystem?
A producers make energy
B the sunlight provides energy to producers
C consumers obtain energy from animals
D scavengers obtain energy from dead plants
Answer:B. Sunlight provides energy to producers
Explanation: photoautotrophs (plants) produce energy from sunlight by photosynthesis. This is the only energy production based on an external source of energy. Plants, whether alive or dead, are consumed by heterotrophs - bacteria, fungi and animals. The nutrients and energy from dead heterotrophs (and some live ones) are recycled by both autotrophs and heterotrophs.
Annie has a soccer ball and a kickball. She kicks each ball with the same force. The soccer ball accelerates at 3 m/s2, and the kickball accelerates at 5 m/s2.
Use Newton’s laws to describe why the kickball has a greater acceleration.
Answer:
Its easy just take that 3 and add up with the 5
Explanation:
Its easy just add
Answer:
My Response:
I think Newton's second law does the best to describe why the kickball has a greater acceleration than the soccer ball when kicked at the same force. That law states that the formula to find force is F=m*a and we can flip that around to find mass or acceleration. In this case, we know that a soccer ball has more mass than a kickball so the formula would be different for the two balls. So, even thought the force applied is the same, because the masses are different, the acceleration is going to be greater for the ball that has the least mass, the kickball.
Sample Response:
Based on Newton's second law, if the balls are kicked with the same force, the one with less mass will have a greater acceleration. Since the kickball accelerates more than the soccer ball, it has less mass.

Why is it important that the DNA is replicated during the S phase of interphase
Answer:
The S phase of a cell cycle occurs during interphase, before mitosis or meiosis, and is responsible for the synthesis or replication of DNA. In this way, the genetic material of a cell is doubled before it enters mitosis or meiosis, allowing there to be enough DNA to be split into daughter cells.
