Answers

Answer 1

Answer:

Look Below

Explanation:

Writing and playing the piano are two vastly different activities that require different skill sets and approaches. Writing involves using words and language to convey ideas and messages, while playing the piano involves using music and sound to create a mood or atmosphere. Writing can be done anywhere, at any time, as long as there is a pen and paper or a device to type on. Playing the piano, on the other hand, requires access to a piano or keyboard and a certain level of proficiency in playing the instrument. While writing is a solo activity, playing the piano can be both a solo and collaborative activity, as musicians can perform in ensembles or with other instruments. Overall, both writing and playing the piano are creative and rewarding activities, but they differ in their medium, accessibility, and collaborative potential.

But now, because the landing was taking far longer than planned, the fuel was almost gone. Mission Control wanted Neil to take as much time as he needed and fly the LM as near empty as possible only because they wanted him to make the landing. But if he ran out of fuel above the surface, in all likelihood the LM would crash onto the moon.

When it comes time to set Eagle down in the Sea of Tranquility, Armstrong improvises, manually piloting the ship past an area littered with boulders. During the final seconds of descent, Eagle's computer is sounding alarms.

A reader can best combine the information in the excerpts to

Answer: In the year 2045, humans had finally accomplished the impossible, they had reached Mars. The crew of the spaceship, "Mars Mission 2045" was ecstatic as they explored the barren, red planet. The mission's objective was to search for signs of life and gather information to prepare for the establishment of a permanent colony.

As they roamed the rugged terrain, they stumbled upon a strange discovery. Scratched into the dusty metal surface was the ominous message, "CPACK." The crew tried to decipher the meaning of the message but found no answers. The captain of the mission, Captain Jacobs, ordered the team to continue their exploration while he tried to find the source of the message.

As the days went by, strange and eerie things started to happen. The crew members reported hearing strange noises coming from deep within the planet's interior. Some even claimed to see ghostly figures lurking in the shadows. Despite the strange occurrences, the team pressed on.

One day, while exploring a dark and foreboding cave, the crew stumbled upon an ancient alien race. The creatures were massive and their skin was an ashen grey. The team was horrified by the sight, but even more horrified when they realized the creatures were still alive. The creatures were angry and hostile, and it quickly became apparent that they were the source of the message "CPACK."

The creatures were angry and wanted revenge for what they saw as a violation of their sacred planet. They unleashed a barrage of attacks on the crew, who were now struggling to survive. The team's equipment was destroyed, and they were running out of resources. The crew was trapped, with no way of contacting Earth for help.

As the days passed, the crew began to fall one by one to the relentless attacks of the alien creatures. Captain Jacobs and the remaining crew members realized that their mission was doomed to failure. In their final moments, they left a desperate message on the planet's surface, hoping that it would be found by a future generation of explorers.

In the end, the crew of the "Mars Mission 2045" became the first human victims of an extraterrestrial threat. The mysterious message "CPACK" served as a warning to future explorers of the dangers that lay in wait on the red planet. The fate of the crew remains a mystery, but their story serves as a cautionary tale of the dangers of venturing into the unknown.

Speech #1
“As a representative of one of the six slaveholding states, I would like to state my position on an important issue. I feel that slaves should count as part of the state’s population for representation in Congress. Slaves should not, however, be counted for taxation purposes. Slaves are just as much a part of a state’s population as women and children. Women and children cannot vote, yet they count for representation. Since the South relies on slaves for their economy, slaves should not count as part of the population for direct taxation purposes. The slave owners would go broke if this happened. Counting slaves for taxation purposes would also hurt the economy of the North. The North relies upon the South for certain raw materials, such as cotton. We of the slave holding states, therefore, feel that slaves should not count as part of the state’s population for taxation, but slaves should count as part of the population in determining that state’s representation in Congress.”

Speech 2
“As a representative of a free state, I feel that slaves should not count in deciding representation in Congress. If the southerners feel they must own slaves, they should pay for them. Since they actually own the slaves, the slaves are their property. Since slaves are property, they should not count as part of the population for representation. I own 500 cows in the North. If slaves are property and my cows are property, then cows should also count as part of the population if slaves are to be counted. It is only fair to count slaves for taxation purposes. If people own slaves it is only fair that they are taxed for their ownership. The federal government needs the tax money and it is in the best interest of the entire nation that slaves be counted for taxation purposes.”

Questions:
18. Where is the speaker in speech #1 from?

19. What is his stance on the issue of counting slaves for taxation? Representation in Congress?

20. Where is the speaker in speech #2 from?

21. What is his opinion on the issue of counting slaves for taxation? For representation?

Answers

The speaker in speech #1 is from one of the six slaveholding states.

19. The speaker in speech #1 believes that slaves should count as part of the state's population for representation in Congress, but not for taxation purposes.

20. The speaker in speech #2 is from a free state.

21. The speaker in speech #2 believes that slaves should not count in deciding representation in Congress and should be counted for taxation purposes as they are considered property and their owners should pay taxes for their ownership.

What is the slaveholding  about?

The two speeches are given by representatives from different states and they express their opinions on the issue of counting slaves for taxation and representation in Congress.

Therefore, Speech #1 is given by a representative from one of the six slaveholding states. The speaker argues that slaves should be counted as part of the state's population for representation in Congress, because they are just as much a part of the population as women and children who cannot vote. However, the speaker feels that counting slaves for taxation purposes would hurt the economy of the South and North.

Answers

The study found that the increase in nitrogen and phosphorus caused a significant decrease in the diversity of organisms living in the pond.

Effects of Phosphorus and Nitrogen on the Aquatic Environment Other crucial components in the aquatic environment are phosphate and nitrogen. However, surface waters acquire more N and P through agricultural and urban land uses than they would naturally. Inadequate nutrient levels, such as those of nitrogen and phosphorus, have a disastrous impact on the marine ecosystems along the coast by creating algal blooms that reduce the oxygen content of the water and destroy marine life. Water runoff from agricultural land or wastewater can carry these nutrients into the ocean. The aquatic environment may also absorb mineralized nitrogen from agricultural fields, which has a severe negative influence on the ecology. N that is bonded to sediment can be transferred to streams and rivers suspended in runoff by erosive forces like wind and water.

The Mr. Clean & Mr. Dirty experiment demonstrated how external influences, such as ambiguity or how an individual compares to others, can affect one's sense of self-worth.

What are the development of ideas?

Self-concept, according to Saul McLeod, refers to how individuals "think, assess, or view" themselves. Carl Rogers separated the theory of self-concept into three distinct parts: self-esteem, self-image, as well as the ideal self. In this essay, Saul McLeod goes into greater information about each concept. In the case of Mr. Dirty, participants' self-esteem rose as a result of an uncertain or anxiety-inducing circumstance. Those who were around "Mr. Clean," a companion who appeared successful and very attractive, reported having lower levels of self-esteem. In contrast, exposure to "Mr. Dirty," a confederate who was unwelcome and less supportive, increased the participants' sense of self-worth.

What is reported speech?

Reported speech (also known as indirect speech) refers to a way of expressing the contents of a statement, question, request, command, or exclamation made by someone else in a different way, usually by reporting what the speaker said, rather than quoting their exact words. It involves rephrasing the original message into a form that is indirect and often includes changes in tense, pronouns, and time expressions.

For example, if someone says "I'm going to the store," in reported speech, this could be reported as "She said she was going to the store." In this example, the original direct speech has been changed into reported speech, taking into account the changes in the tense, pronouns, and time expressions.

Reported speech is commonly used in writing, journalism, and everyday conversations to report what someone else has said or to recount a conversation in a narrative or descriptive manner.

One time, I challenged myself to run a marathon. I had never been a runner, but I wanted to push myself to see what I was capable of. I trained for months, putting in long hours and pushing through the pain.

I did it because I wanted to prove to myself that I could accomplish something difficult, and to show that with hard work and determination, anything was possible. The training was grueling, but the sense of accomplishment I felt when I crossed the finish line made it all worth it.

I learned that the things in life that are worth having are often the things that we have to work the hardest for. The sense of pride and accomplishment I felt after finishing that marathon has stayed with me and motivated me to take on new challenges.

In the end, gutting it out and pushing through the difficult times was worth it because it helped me grow as a person and gave me the confidence to tackle anything that comes my way.

What is called a clause?

A group of words known as a clause is made up of two related words—a subject and a verb. This connection is essential because, unlike a random collection of words, a phrase conveys information about what the subject is or is doing.

A set of words that expresses a full idea and comprises both a subject and a verb is referred to as an independent clause. Sentences make up independent clauses. Despite having a subject and predicate, a dependent phrase is a set of words that do not fully represent a notion.
