When oceanic plates diverge, tensional stress causes fractures to occur in the lithosphere.
At a spreading center, basaltic magma rises up the fractures and cools on the ocean floor to form new seabed.
Since the time of Aristotle, our view of our place in the universe has changed dramatically. Astronomical observations have played a major role in changing our view. How do you think our view of our place in the universe would change if scientists discovered evidence of intelligent life on a planet orbiting some other star?
Answer:
I think we wouldn't feel so special anymore. I feel like as humans we think we are better than everything else that is living. But if we found intelligent life on another floating orb, it would open our eyes to and we would see that we aren't as special as we think we are. In other words, I think our ego would be forever hurt until we prove that we are better then they are in some way.
Hope this helped c;
