                                                                  P1, NPA Estate, Housing, Ikd,

                                                                  Lagos.

                                                                   12/02/2021.

Dear Vanessa,

I am so happy to write to you at this time. Mom informed me that you just gained admission into my prestigious school. I must tell you that you are in the right place of learning. But I have some few advise and information to give you which will enable you enjoy your learning there and still come out the best.

Firstly, some lecturers can be so frustrating. Therefore, you need to be very smart. Some of them can come into the lecture hall to give impromptu test which they will use as their continuous assessment. So, you must make sure you study very well before going for lectures.

Secondly, beware of bad friends. One thing that is prevalent in that school is the issue of conspiracy. This happens when you move with the wrong company. Move with the right company of friends; those that will help you achieve your dreams.

Finally, do not bury yourself in books alone. Socialize and network with friends and colleagues. Also, remember to take your walk with God very seriously. Attend weekly activities and always have personal time with God.

I will stop here for now and will write to you soon to know your wellbeing.

Patrick, Victor and Praise send their greetings. Take care.

                                                                                                 Yours Truly,

                                                                                                        Chris.

Explanation:

The letter to my sister is an informal letter. From the above letter written, you will discover that I opened the greeting with her name, "Dear Vanessa". This shows that she is close to me and not a stranger. Also, the body of letter reveals that there is a bond of intimacy between us which makes the writing informal. Then my closing remark also shows that I am writing to a known person.

They know what beauty is, see where it lies,
Yet what the best is take the worst to be.
If eyes, corrupt by over-partial looks,
Be anchored in the bay where all men ride,
Why of eyes' falsehood hast thou forged hooks,
Whereto the judgment of my heart is tied?
Why should my heart think that a several plot,

What is the main difference between poetry and prose writing?

Answers

Answer:

While prose has full sentences and paragraphs, poetry has lines and stanzas.

Explanation:

Prose is comprised of full grammatical sentences that are developed and organized into paragraphs. Poetry, on the other hand, has lines and stanzas that most times follow a rhythm.

Prose uses everyday grammar that is easy to comprehend while poetry might sometimes require deeper reading and meditation before the ideas being communicated, are understood. Novels, articles, and most other forms of writing follow the form of a prose.

Which statement best shows the central idea that South Africa wishes to regain its place among other nations?

Answers

Answer: "outlawed and isolated by the peoples of the world"

Explanation:

"The national mood changes as the seasons change" is incorrect because it's not related to the idea of South Africa's place among other regions, it's talking about the internal environment.

"when the grass turns green and the flowers bloom" incorrect for same reason as above

"outlawed and isolated by the peoples of the world" is correct because it shows that they did not like their low standing and it is implied that they want to change that.

"have today been given the rare privilege to be host to the nations of the world on our own soil." incorrect on Edmentum, because this is how South Africa is beginning to realize their wish, not describing their actual wish to regain position

The statement that shows that the central idea that South Africa wants to conquer its place among the nations is the sentence where the author shows that South Africa is having the privilege of hosting the nations of the whole world, after all the history.of exploitation and racism, it suffered.

This sentence is shown on the line below:

"have today been given the rare privilege to be host to the nations of the world on our own soil."

We can arrive at this answer because:

The author shows how South Africa is a wonderful land and how all its inhabitants are attached to it.However, this admiration was sabotaged as other nations invaded South Africa, devalued it, plundered it, and created an incorrect idea that South Africa was a bad place, as a way to encourage prejudice and racism. However, South Africans have an immense desire to show that these ideas are incorrect and claim South Africa's place alongside other nations.

For the author, the proof that this desire was possible is the fact that South Africa was able to host all nations equally and placing itself as an important and admirable nation.
