What responsibility means to me Being responsible refers to our ability to make decisions that serve our own interests and the interests of others. We first need to be responsible for ourselves before we can be responsible for others. In learning to be more responsible it is important that we know our limitations. It does not matter how smart we are, there is only so much responsibility that one person can handle at any given time. It is also important to remember that we are not responsible for things that are out of our control, for example, how other people think and feel or how they react to ourselves or others.
Sharing responsibility for both success and failure can lead to increased responsibility to oneself and to others. I plan to be a parent some day and as such will need to depend on my partner to make good choices. Every choice we make will affect the people around us. Who my children will look up look up to will be very important in their development. I will need to teach them morality and the differences between right from wrong as well as instill in them the values of today’s society so they can be productive members of said society when they reach adulthood.
I also have responsibility my pet for they are part of our family. I am responsible for their health, well being and care. This mean I have to take care of their shots and other medical needs. Pets are a big responsibility in many ways not just their health but in their happiness as well what I give them in love I get back tenfold.
There are also responsibilities to society that are very important to me. I need to follow the rules that all people have to follow that are set by today’s society. One must be aware that there are consequences for being an irresponsible member of society. The likelihood of getting arrested is doubled when you intentionally behave reckless. Rules and responsibility are put in place to save us from the chaos that is human life.

The Reefs By Marcella Morris
She clutched her lab work to her side walking briskly towards school. The snow fell in typical New York flurries and the ground was still icy from last night’s freeze. Careful not to slip, she climbed the steps and crossed the campus towards the science building.
“What am I doing?” she murmured. Sophie’s worse habit was talking to herself in public. “I have been warned.”
“You are just a high school kid, Sophie,” they warned. “What makes you think you are capable of solving this crucial environmental issue? Stop wasting your time.” The professors would not give her laboratory time to complete research nor would they share their expertise with her.
But, she could not stop.
After that snorkeling trip she took with her aunt to the coral reefs, she felt that something had shifted inside her. The snorkeling guide made one fact very clear- these colonies of tiny organisms would not last. In fact, we’d be lucky if they lasted 5 more years. She cared about the safety of these coral reefs more than she has cared about anything for a long, long time. She had to do something for the fragile, endangered habitat with its fish, mollusks, worms, crustaceans and many more.
So, she used her money to create a lab at her aunt’s house. She worked tirelessly—endlessly—sleeping only when she had to.
“It’s what mom and dad would have done,” she thought.
Her best friend Sam, would hang out with her everyday—eating pizza, fries, and whatever else he could get his hands on, keeping her company with his humor while Sophie worked on her experiments. And now, she has a biological solution in her hands.
She hesitated at the door to the labs. Nervously, she shifted her lab report from one hand to the other.
“I know that have an innovative approach to solving the coral reef issue and I know I can help,” she said to no one.
The image of being ridiculed by these professors, delayed her entry. She stood outside the door, wanting to run back- wanting to hide- glued to the icy spot.
“Hey, Sophie!” She turned at the unexpected sound of Sam’s voice.

For example, the stamp act of 1765 where the colonist was taxed to pay for the seven-year war the British fought for. The stamp act was an act that directly taxed the British on paper products like newspapers, almanacs, pamphlets, broadsides, legal documents, dice, and playing cards. The reason for this act was to pay for the seven-year war that the British fought for. Another example is the tea act of 1773. The colonists were forced to only purchase tea from the British East Indian Company, killing off foreign competitors that also traded tea with the colonists. They were also heavily taxed if they purchased from other companies.
Although the British taxed the colonists for a war that only benefitted the colonists. The problem was that the colonists had no say in the matter. "No Taxation Without Representation" was born here. While the taxes were fair, the colonists had no say, and that was the problem.
In conclusion, the founding fathers had the right to rebel against the British Government because the role of a government is defending those natural rights and making it possible for them to be accomplished. The British government failed to do so. Therefore, the people had the right to rebel against this government and form a new one that defends these rights.

Maybe just re word it a little. say "they were better off forming their OWN government, while also keeping trade and the exchange of good's open with the motherland."
In your second paragraph, I would word the first sentence differently, say something like "first of all, the British passed the Samp Act, which forced colonists to pay for a war, that was being fought by the British" and after that, your reasoning and explanation is great! when you say "the reason for this act was to pay for the seven- year war that British fought for" I would delete that because you already said that in the beginning of your paragraph. And when you go on to say "another example" and start talking about the tea act, I would make that another paragraph, just because it's a different subject.
After "another example WAS (not is but was since this happened in the past) The tea act of 1773, say the colonist were forced and add in "by the British" , "to only purchase tea, from company's in their own land. I really like how you say it "killed off", that was a good word choice.
In your third paragraph, don't exactly say "taxed the colonists for a war that only benefitted the colonists" because you already said that, and when you restate an idea, it's in the final paragraph "say something like "Although if it wasn't already enough, for the British to practically torture the colonists with unfairly high taxes, the colonists had no say in the matter, they we're forced to pretty much just shut up and do as their told." and the rest is good but than you say the taxes *WERE fair, I think you meant, *WERE NOT fair. and at the end, don't say "and that was the problem" because you just said that same thing and you don't want your writing to sound repetitive.
In your final paragraph, don't say "Therefore, the people had the right to rebel against this government and form a new one that defends these rights". Because you just said that exact same thing in the previous sentence, maybe try and make it about the reader. say something like "so think about it, if you were getting treated this poorly by a country denying your basic rights, wouldn't you rebel?
