Explanation:

Abraham lincoln was the 16th president of the United States. He was born on February 12th, 1809, in Hodgenville, Kentucky. His living situation growing up was rough, as his father lost everything when Abraham was young and his family had to move to Perry County, Indiana. When he was just nine years old, his mother died and his sister Sarah took care of him until his father remarried. Abraham Lincoln was self educated and learned from books that he borrowed. When he got older, he worked various jobs such as a shopkeepter and surveyer. He soon moved into politics and won a seat in the Illinois Legislature when he was 25. When he was 33 years old, Abraham Lincoln married Mary Todd on November 4, 1842, at her sister Elizabeth's home in Springfield, Illinois. She was 23 years old. The couple had four sons, all were born in Springfield, Illinois and only one survived until adulthood. In 1860, Lincoln ran for President of the United States. He was a member of the fairly new Republican party which strongly opposed allowing any of the southern states to secede (leave the country). The republicans were also against slavery. They said they would allow for slavery to continue in the southern states, but that it would not be allowed to spread to new U.S. states or territories. Abraham Lincoln won the 1860 election and was inaugurated as president in March of 1861. His Vice president was Andrew Johnson. The southern states did not want Lincoln to be president. They did not agree with his policies. Abraham lincoln led the Civil War on April 12, 1861 at Fort Sumter in South Carolina just a month after he took office. Lincoln was determined to maintain the "Union" of the states. He called for an army from the northern states to defeat the south. What followed was a bloody war that lasted four years and cost the lives of 600,000 Americans. Lincoln faced all sorts of opposition during the war, but managed to hold the country together.  One interesting fact about Abraham Lincoln is that he is the tallest president. He stands at 6 feet 4 inches.

In your journal, create a chart outlining the advantages and disadvantages of the North and South moving into the Civil War. Use your chart to write a paragraph comparing and contrasting the two regions and which region you believe had the advantage and why.

should women have a say? How?

Answers

Answer:

In my opinion, anyone of either gender deserve to have a say in economic and political topics. So, yes, women should have a voice just as much as men do.

Explanation:

Women's rights have come a long way, and, of course, women still have a problem when it comes to giving their opinions/arguments in today's society. So, my point is, the more women push to have their say, the weaker that problem becomes. That is how and why women should have an opinion in the rising taxes and law change.

:)

Answer:

Yes,women should have a say

Explanation:

I'd say they should be able to tell others of higher authority in the word there opinions on the situations, and they should listen and consider understanding the point they are trying to get across.

For Example Louisiana Abortion Law that was passed in mid 2019 if I'm correct at first Louisiana wanted to make all abortion illegal, but after some time of women protesting and saying they wanted to bring that to a more powerful court,to which Louisiana's plan on the new law were shut down once brought to the Supreme Court due to the fact making all abortion illegal in that state would go against the Constitution of the United States that protects a pregnant woman's liberty to choose to have an abortion without any excessive government restriction.

Louisiana's new Abortion law is that women can have surgical abortion up to 20 weeks (5 months) into your pregnancy, unless you have severe health problems.

Read the selection below from the section "Brains Under Construction."

The first reason that teen brains are more sensitive to junk food is that they are still developing the ability to assess risks and control actions. This happens in a region of the brain called the prefrontal cortex. The prefrontal cortex helps us weigh risks. It also helps us make decisions about how to act.

Which sentence from this selection supports the conclusion that teenagers' brains change over time?

A
The first reason that teen brains are more sensitive to junk food is that they are still developing the ability to assess risks and control actions.
B
This happens in a region of the brain called the prefrontal cortex.
C
The prefrontal cortex helps us weigh risks.
D
It also helps us make decisions about how to act.

Answers

Answer:

A. The first reason that teen brains are more sensitive to junk food is that they are still developing the ability to assess risks and control actions.

Explanation:

The sentence supporting the conclusion that teenager's brains change over time is the first sentence from the selection.

The first sentence provides some context clues such as the word "developing." This word can be associated with the phrase, "change over time." To develop is to become more mature, which is definitely a change. This means that the reason for the change relies on the development of the teenager's ability to assess risks and control his/her actions, which means when they get older, they become more capable of choosing healthier options.

Choices B, C and D do not provide any support regarding the development of the brain. They only state some facts regarding the function of the prefrontal cortex and which part of the brain the change occurs.

A would be the answer

In President George W. Bush's State of the Union Address of January 29, 2002, he reviewed the nation's response to the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. President Bush drew controversy when he then sketched his plan for dealing with terrorism in the months and years that lay ahead. According to the president, the greatest threat to America came not simply from Al Qaeda, but from an Axis of Evil—nations that represented the ultimate repression of human freedom. The three rogue states—Iraq, Iran and North Korea—not only oppressed their own people, but also actively aided terrorist groups. Defeating this Axis of Evil became the cornerstone of the Bush administration's plan to defeat global terrorism.

Tom Stoppard's play, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, draws on two previous theatrical works: Shakespeare's Hamlet and Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead follows the "off-stage" exploits of two minor characters from Hamlet, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. While the two main characters in Stoppard's play occasionally make brief appearances in "Hamlet," as scripted in Shakespeare's original tragedy, the majority of the play takes place in other parts of the castle where Hamlet is set. While "off stage" in this way, the characters resemble the main characters in the absurdist Waiting for Godot. As in Beckett's play, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern pass the time by impersonating other characters, engaging in word play, and remaining silent for long periods of time. These same two characters were also featured in a parody of Hamlet, the short comic play by W. S. Gilbert entitled Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. Gilbert's play makes Rosencrantz and Guildenstern into central characters and alters the storyline of Hamlet: The author of this passage chooses to describe four different playwrights in order to (5 points) convince the reader that one playwright is more talented than another Ob instruct the reader about the least successful adaptations of Shakespeare inform the reader of many different interpretations of the same two characters Od distract the reader from the true message of Shakespeare's tragic play Question 9 (5 points)
