Rene Descartes said hate was the urge to withdraw from something that is thought bad. Aristotle saw hate as the incurable desire to annihilate an object. In psychology, Sigmund Freud defined hate as an ego state that wishes to destroy the source of its unhappiness. Which definition most accurately explains Tybalt's motivation for taking part in the feud between the Montagues and Capulets?

Answers

Answer:

Sigmund Freud's definition of hate- In psychology, Sigmund Freud defined hate as an ego state that wishes to destroy the source of its unhappiness.

Explanation:

In William Shakespeare's "Romeo and Ju liet", the two stars crossed lovers and the fate that takes them away became the symbol of everlasting and faithful love for generations to come. This story epitomizes the negative influence that overtakes everything, stemming from the hate that the families had for each other for centuries.

As seen in the character of Tybalt, the feeling of hate seems to be the type that was described by Freud. Sigmund Freud's definition of hate is "an ego state that wishes to destroy the source of its happiness", which is similar to what Tybalt represents. He felt the need to destroy the source of the happiness, openly declaring "talk of peace! I hate the word, As I hate hell, all Montagues, and thee" (Act 1 scene i).

Thus, the definition that most accurately explains Tybalt's motivation for reigniting the family feud between the Capulets and Montagues is in accordance with that given by Sigmund Freud.

C FASHO GANG NO CAP !!!!

The attitude toward the minutemen Emerson most clearly expresses in "Concord Hymn" is  He expresses gratitude. Thus the correct option is C.

What is Concord Hymn?

Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote poetry named as "Concord Hymn" about the minutemen's first fire in Concord, Massachusetts, in 1775.

The difficult period of American history when the first battles of the American Revolutionary War were fought between Americans and Britons is described in the song.

The song "Concord Hymn," which was composed in honor of the dedication of the war memorial in 1837, perfectly demonstrated Emerson's honesty in expressing his thanks to the troops who had fought for it.

Here, the narrator requests that the memorial be protected because it is a special remembrance. To recall and honor the heroes of a war that took place there, a stone monument was constructed.

Therefore, option C is appropriate.

New Technology Leads to Bigger Cities
In the 1800s, the United States was still a very young nation, trying to solidify its identity. The Industrial Revolution began in Great Britain, a fast development of
society following the introduction of machines.

The United States was slower than Great Britain to fully embrace the changes. Yet key technological developments
caused a rapid growth in American urban areas
Better farming methods and tools in the 1800s increased food production. Americans were able to grow enough food for their families as well as to sell.

The abundance caused food prices to fall
The expansion of cotton and the growth of textile factories in northern states helped produce the first wave of American industry. More people turned to work in
northern factories as a way to support their families.

Thousands of immigrants to the United States also settled in or near port cities, looking for work. Even today,
the need for work is a common reason people move to urban areas.

As a result, cities grew in numbers of people and physical space. As more people and businesses moved in, they needed buildings for living and working.

Theyneeded ways to move around the city. We call this process urbanization.
In 1820, the United States had only a few cities of 10,000 residents or more. About seven percent of U.S. residents lived in urban areas. The number of cities with
more than 10,000 people grew quickly over the next 40 years, especially in the Northeast and Midwest.

By 1860, about 20 percent lived in cities. Philadelphia andNew York City were the most populated cities in 1860 and would soon reach one million residents.
The urbanization of the United States quickened due to technology improvements. Without innovations in food production, the factories could not have grown so
quickly.

The trend quickened after 1860 and continued throughout the 21st century as well. By 2007, more Americans lived in or near cities than they did in rural
areas

Esperanza and Mama, their faces shiny with grime and perspiration, looked tired and wilted as they slumped with even the slight weight of their valises." Valise means "suitcase." Based on context, what do you think the other italicized words in this sentence might mean (perspiration, wilted, slumped)? Why might the author have chosen specifically to use the word "wilted" to describe Esperanza and her mother?

Answers

Answer and Explanation:

Based on context, what do you think the other italicized words in this sentence might mean (perspiration, wilted, slumped)?

Since the context makes it clear that Esperanza and her mother are tired due to carrying the valises, we can infer the meaning of the italicized words:

perspiration --> if their faces look shiny, it's because they are probably sweaty. Therefore, perspiration means sweat.

wilted --> if we are to take only the context into consideration, I'd say wilted is just another way to say tired or to refer to someone whose energy level is low.

slumped --> this is in connection to the weight of the valises. Even though they are not heavy, the women find them difficult to carry. Therefore, we can assume slumped refers to their postures, to the way their bodies look all curved up due to the weight.

Why might the author have chosen specifically to use the word "wilted" to describe Esperanza and her mother?

When we look up the meaning of wilted, we find: (of a plant, leaf, or flower) limp due to heat, loss of water, or disease; droop. The author probably chose this adjective to refer to Esperanza and her mother as a means to invoke the image of plants. Readers can think of them - the women - as delicate flowers in need of water, of care.

Answer:

1. Radical Republicans should amend the constitution, so as to nullify the Black Codes in the South.

2. Three possible things the Radical Republicans could do about violence against African Americans in the Confederate states right after the Civil War include;

a. Enact laws to designate as illegal the activities of the White supremacists.

b. Amend the constitution

c. Create awareness in the black community about their rights and privileges.

Explanation:

When the White masters realized that after the Civil War, they could no longer compel the Black Slaves to work for them, they enacted the Black Codes which greatly limited the Blacks. For example, under the Black Codes, they were not expected to work for more than one master. Slaves who violated any of the codes were made to work without pay.

Radical Republicans could challenge this by making an amendment to the constitution. They achieved this through the 14th amendment that recognized the rights of the slaves. They also enacted the Civil Rights Act. Creating awareness among the Blacks and encouraging them to report acts of injustice are ways the Radical Republicans could have helped the Blacks.
