Student loans considered unsecured because Lenders don't have any collateral to seize if the loan doesn't get paid back

The larger a loan is, the more risk a lender takes on by offering it. That’s why some types of loans are harder to qualify for than others.

But strict eligibility requirements aren’t the only measure lenders use to protect themselves.

What is collateral?

"The term collateral refers to an asset that a lender accepts as security for a loan. Collateral may take the form of real estate or other kinds of assets, depending on the purpose of the loan.

The collateral acts as a form of protection for the lender. That is, if the borrower defaults on their loan payments, the lender can seize the collateral and sell it to recoup some or all of its losses."

Who are Lenders?

A lender is an individual, a group (it can be both public or private), or a financial institution that makes funds available to a person or business with the expectation that the funds will be repaid. Repayment will include the payment of any interest or fees.

"Lenders provide funds for a variety of reasons, such as a home mortgage, an automobile loan, or a small business loan.

The terms of the loan specify how it must be satisfied, e.g., the repayment period and the consequences of missing payments and default. A lender may go to a collection agency to recover any funds that are past due."

Please could somebody help?

I am a newly qualified teacher and I have trouble with one student - they always put there head on the desk and don’t do any work. What could this mean, does this mean there upset?

Answers

I'm sorry to hear that! I may not be of much help, but I do know a bit in psych. This is not meant to say you haven't already thought of this, just leaving a few suggestions.

Check to see if said student has any history of not following directions, grades suddenly dropping, or just some little things on their file. It really depends on the students age, but it could just be seasonal depression or quarantine getting them down.

The election is right around the corner, so it could just be politics or their family's opinions (that's how it is for me, I haven't spoken to my grandfather for months). Again with politics, if your student is queer and closeted (not trying to assume anything), then it cold be parents, friends, or peers who aren't accepting of them. If your student is a person of color, then it could be all the stuff going on in the media. These really are some trying times, but don't pressure your student to say anything that they don't want to.

Maybe something happened to a family member or friend. Or they have an unchecked mental illness, so they probably aren't taking medication. It could be bullying, abuse or just about anything. Maybe it's just them daydreaming or trying to get a gag out of you getting frustrated over them.

If it bothers you that much, do a little digging yourself, and see if anything has been going on with them over the last couple years. If you don't find anything, or you find something concerning, then just ask them yourself.

I hope this helps, and I hope you have a good day! I'm not qualified in the least to answer these questions, but i'm a bit too aware of things for my age, so I like to think i'm smarter than people in my age group.

If your students grades start to drop, consider speaking to their parent/parents or guardian.

He maintained complete order in the library and could tell immediately if a book was missing or misplaced. He did not say much. This struck fear into the students. They always said that Mr. Berry did not have to talk. When someone was careless with a book, the look on Mr. Berrys face told that person everything he or she needed to know. All of this contributed to making Tom feel terrible about losing the copy of Animal Farm that he had borrowed nearly four weeks earlier. It was as if the book had disappeared from the face of the earth. In fact, Tom had completely forgotten about the book until he received an overdue notice from Mr. Berry through the mail. Tom did not look forward to facing the librarian directly. When he left for school that morning, he felt as if he were going to his execution. Toms fear increased with each tick of the clock. It was already fourth period by the time he talked himself into going to see Mr. Berry. As he walked to the library, his palms were sweating and he felt as though he had butterflies performing acrobatics in his stomach. When he walked through the doors, he saw that the library was deserted, except for Mr. Berry. Tom was happy that nobody would witness the embarrassing scene that was sure to erupt. Upon seeing Tom, Mr. Berry said, "Oh Tom, I owe you an apology. I guess I made a mistake. I didn't realize that you had already returned Animal Farm." At first, Tom didn't know what to say, and then, much to his surprise, he found himself telling Mr. Berry that he hadn't returned the book, that he'd lost it, and that he'd looked all over for it but couldn't find it. Tom could not stop the words from coming out of his mouth. When Tom finished, Mr. Berry smiled and said, "Well, somebody found it and returned it. That's the important thing. It's important to remember that everybody makes mistakes. I guess we both did in this case." Tom smiled too; he felt relieved. As he made his way back to class, he decided that he really liked Mr. Berry and that he would try to use the library more often.3Why was Tom afraid of Mr. Berry? A.
