अनेक शब्दों के लिए एक शब्द (One Word Substitution) –
अच्छी रचना के लिए आवश्यक है कि कम से कम शब्दोँ मेँ विचार प्रकट किए जाएँ। भाषा मेँ यह सुविधा भी होनी चाहिए कि वक्ता या लेखक कम से कम शब्दोँ मेँ अर्थात् संक्षेप मेँ बोलकर या लिखकर विचार अभिव्यक्त कर सके। कम से कम शब्दोँ मेँ अधिकाधिक अर्थ को प्रकट करने के लिए ‘वाक्यांश या शब्द–समूह के लिए एक शब्द’ का विस्तृत ज्ञान होना आवश्यक है। ऐसे शब्दोँ के प्रयोग से वाक्य–रचना मेँ संक्षिप्तता, सुन्दरता तथा गंभीरता आ जाती है।भाषा में कई शब्दों के स्थान पर एक शब्द बोल कर हम भाषा को प्रभावशाली एवं आकर्षक बनाते है।
