5. Now you want to know the distance in AU to each place where
you will be traveling. That way, you can relate each distance to our
solar system. What conversion factor will you need to multiply by to
convert kilometers to AU? (Hint: 1 AU = 149,598,000 km)
Answer:
Multiply the length value by 6.68456e-9
Explanation:
The question involves converting from one unit (kilometers) to another unit (Au)
From the question;
149,598,000 km = 1 AU
1 km = x
Cross multiplying;
1 * 1 = x * 149,598,000
1 = 149,598,000x
x = 1 / 149,598,000
x = 6.68456e-9
To convert kilometer to Au; Multiply the length value by 6.68456e-9

Determine the final temperature of a mixture of 50 grams of water at 10 C added to 120 grams of water at 80 C. Show all work. Use the simulator to check your answer. (Hint: This is a weighted average.)
Answer: 59.41
Explanation:
The final temperature of the system has been 130[tex]\rm ^\circ C[/tex].
Specific heat can be defined as the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of 1 g of substance by 1-degree celsius.
The amount of heat lost and the heat gained have been equal.
Heat = mass × specific heat × change in temperature
Thus,
mc[tex]\Delta[/tex]T = mc[tex]\Delta[/tex]T
50 g × (10 - x) = 120 × (x - 80)
500 - 50x = 120x - 9600
70x = 9100
x = 130
Thus, the final temperature of the system has been 130[tex]\rm ^\circ C[/tex].

Solid potassium chloride is obtained by the reaction of solid potassium and chlorine gas.
Write a balanced chemical equation for this reaction.
Answer:
2 K(s) + Cl₂ (g) --> 2 KCl(s)
Explanation:
Potassium will just be K
Chlorine gas is part of BrIClHOF, which are diatomic gasses. So Cl₂
Looking at the periodic table potassium K has an ion charge of +1 and chlorine Cl has an ion charge of -1, so in a balanced compound they will be written as KCl
Balancing the amounts of each will lead to 2 K(s) + Cl₂ (g) --> 2 KCl(s)

What is the % of each element in (NH4)2(SO4)?
Nitrogen=21.1999%
Hydrogen=6.1023%
Sulfur=24.2660%
The percent composition of nitrogen, hydrogen, sulfur , oxygen in ammonium sulfate is 21.18%, 6.05%,24.21%,48.43% respectively.
What is percent composition?The percent composition is defined as a convenient way to record concentration of solution.It is a expression which relates solute to solvent as,mass of solute/mass of solution ×100.It helps in elemental analysis of a given compound by giving proportions in which they are present.
Percent composition of N= 28/132.14×100=21.18%
Percent composition of H=8/132.14×100=6.05%
Percent composition of S=32/132.14×100=24.21%
Percent composition of O=64/132.14×100=48.43%.

It takes 5.54 mL of a 2.18 M NaOH solution to neutralize 6.19 mL of an HCl solution. What is the concentration of the HCl solution? Do not include units in your
answer. Round to the tenths place or further.
Answer:
2 M
Explanation:
NaOH + HCl --> NaCl + H2O,
5.54 mL = .00545 L,
If we consider 2.18 M, M [molarity] = mol/L, so we have 2.18 mol/L. From this we can get the moles of NaOH.
.00545 L * 2.18 mol/L ≈ .0121 mol
The concentration of HCl can be found from the following:
.0121 mol = .00619(x) [where x = concentration of HCl]
x = 1.955 M ≈ 2 M
We equate the two as we require the same amount in order to neutralize the base.
Using the equation below, calculate the percent yield of H3PO4 if an experiment that started with 12.98 grams of HCl and excess Na3PO4 yielded 8.42 g of H3PO4. Please round to the nearest 0.01 and remember units and substance.
Na3PO4 + HCl --> NaCl + H3PO4

Explanation:
The volume of the nitrogen gas at STP is equal to 19.72 L.
What is the ideal gas equation?The ideal gas equation can be defined as an equation that describes the behavior of an ideal gas. This equation gives by the product of the volume and pressure is equal to the product of the moles of gas, gas constant, and absolute temperature.
The mathematical form of the ideal gas law is given as follows:
PV = nRT
Where n is the moles, V is the volume, R is the universal gas constant and P is the pressure.
The temperature of the N₂ , T = 0° C = 273 K
The pressure of the gas at STP, P = 1 atm
The value of the universal gas constant, R = 0.082 atm L/K mol
The number of moles of N₂, n = 0.881 mol
Fill in the values n, R, P, and T in the equation, and we get:
1 × V = 0.881 × 0.082 × 273
V = 19.72 L

_________deep-sea currents that occur because of differences between the salinity and temperature characteristics of water masses
Lesson 2.12
Question 3 options:
Density
Thermohaline currents
Salinity
Polar ice caps
Answer:
its B) Thermohaline currents Sorry if its wrong but im sure this could be it
Explanation:These deep-ocean currents are driven by differences in the water's density, which is controlled by temperature (thermo) and salinity (haline). This process is known as thermohaline circulation. In the Earth's polar regions ocean water gets very cold, forming sea ice.
Thermohaline currents deep-sea currents that occur because of differences between the salinity and temperature characteristics of water masses
What is thermohaline currents?Thermohaline currents is also known as 'the ocean conveyor belt' or 'the global conveyor belt'. It is a part of the large scale ocean circulations.
As the name thermohaline suggested that, 'thermo' means heat and 'haline' refers to the salt content. So, when there is a great difference in the temperature and the salt content deep sea currents occur.
Hence option (2) is correct i.e. thermohaline currents occur due to temperature and salinity difference.
