What is xylem vessel?

Xylem vessel is a vessel type structure present in plants, that hold water for the plant. They are small vessels, and they loose and tight according to the requirement of water of the plant.

Its main function is to transport water and nutrition. It also supports the plant and give strength to tissues and stems.

Thus, the cells that make up xylem have the ability to adapt to their surroundings. They open up, shed their ends to form a hollow vessel, and lignin provides strength and support to the plant.

According to the author, how has the almond tree

monoculture affected honeybees in Central Valley,

California? What evidence is provided to support the

claim?

Answers

Hello. You did not enter the text to which this question refers, which makes it impossible for it to be answered. However, I will try and help as best I can.

The only way you can answer this question is by reading the text. During this reading, you will notice that there is an element in monoculture that is harming bees, making them have a very difficult life or even die. This element is what is affecting the bees. The author will show why this element is harmful to bees through sentences that prove the effect that this element promotes and how it only exists in monocultures. These sentences will be the text evidence.

It is likely that the author shows how monoculture requires a large use of pesticides, which ends up harming the life of bees. He can also show that monoculture decreases the availability of food for bees, since all monoculture plants only flower once a year and leave the bees without food for the rest of the year, as there is no plant diversity in the monoculture.

Answer:

sample response

Explanation:

Because of the growth of the almond trees, many honeybees have died. Honeybees do not naturally live near the trees so they are transported to the area in order to pollinate the trees. However, the bees are exposed to pesticides that are used on the trees. Many also likely die because the almond trees only bloom in February, so the bees do not have enough food for the rest of the year.

Take a look at the two boxes below. Each box has the same volume. If each ball has the same mass, which box 1 or 2 would weigh more? Why?

Answers

Answer:

Box 1.

Explanation:

The box 1 have the more mass because there are more number of balls present in the box while on the other hand, box 2 has less number of balls in the box. The volume of box boxes are the same as well as weight of the both boxes before placing of balls in it. Placing of balls changes the weight of both boxes because of the presence of different number of balls in each boxes that increases its weight.

After examining the fossil record, scientists have determined that scorpions today are much smaller than their extinct ancestors. For example, Jaekelopterus rhenaniae, a giant scoprtion species that lived 255 million to 460 million years ago was 2.5 meters long. Which of the following conclusions is supported by this information?
A. scorpions living today have increased their numbers since they first appeared
B. scorpions in the fossil record are smaller than their descendants are
C. scorpions have changed as a result of natural selection
D. scorpions do not appear in their original state in the fossil record

Answers

Answer: C. scorpions have changed as a result of natural selection

Explanation:

The text tells us that scorpions today are now smaller than they were in the past. This means that the scorpions have changed since then i.e. they have evolved.

The primary reason for evolution is natural selection which refers to a situation whereby only the organisms that are better adapted in their species survive.

The conclusion that can be drawn from this research therefore is that we have smaller scorpions today because they stood a better chance of survival than the larger ones and so survived whilst the larger ones died out.

someone help me? please help mw i really really need it . answering this would be a big help, thankyou

Answers

Answer:
My question: Does a plant grow better when you mist it with water or pour it?

Hypothesis: The plant grows better if you pour water on it.

Research: According to gardendesign .com watering your plant with a hose is much better, and watering it in early morning/ late evening is better.

Experiment: Over the course of 2 weeks(or however long), I will watch 2 plants grow and see if msiting one plant versus pouring water on the base is better.

Materials:
-2 grass plants
- watering can ( for pouring)
- spray bottle( for misting)
- area on a windowsill where sunlight can enter.

Procedure:
1. First we put the grass plants in separate pots.
2. Water the plants in the same timeframe, such as every 3 days.( at either early morning or late night)
3. Leave them in the suncast window
Doing the experiment:
As I watched the plants, they both grew overtime, but one more than the other.
Data gathered:
One plant turned yellow while the other grew lusher.
Organized data:
week1 week2 week3
plant 1(pour)- green, taller I green, taller I green, taller
plant 2(mist)- green, same height I yellow, shorter I brown, shorter
Analyze data:
The plant with water poured in was lusher because there was more water going to its roots, while the other plant that was misted turned yellow, brown, then died because there was very little water going to its roots.
Conclusion:

My claim was correct, because when we poured water, the plant was healthier, and when we misted it, the plant died.

3. The parts of a simple scientific experiment are the purpose(why you are doing it), the research(to find out more on the topic), the hypothesis(prediction of outcome), the experiment(procedure to see if hypothesis is right), and then the analysis( to see what to change to make hypothesis correct, or see if it was correct)

4. What this experiment was about was a simple investigation to see whether watering a plant by misting or pouring was better. I wanted to see which one would work better to find an effective way to water my plants. What this investigation taught me was that when we water our plants, we need to pour it. I figured this out through research and articles stating how pouring water with a watering can or using a hose in the soil was better than just misting it with a spray bottle, as it was more effective. This outcome came through a mildly long test experiment, which happened over the course of 3 weeks. What I analyzed from that was that if we water a plant through a spray bottle just on the leaves, it really doesn't help the plant, as the roots are the ones that need water, so that they can internally give it to the leaves. That is why I rest my case of how watering plants by pouring is better than misting it.
