Briefly explain how ONE event or development in the period 1945 to 1980 that is not
explicitly mentioned in the excerpts could be used to support Gaddis interpretation.

Answers

Answer 1

Answer:

Explanation:

The aftereffects of the Second World War, which finally ended in 1945 were many and varied. One of the biggest, was a conflict that arose between the then recognized two opposing super powers, the United States and the Soviet Union, known as the Cold War. The reason for this conflict, and which originated from the strife between the two nations over who was more powerful and had more control in the world, was the huge opposing views on how life should be handled. The U.S believed strongly in democracy while the Soviets believed in Communism. Another reason for the power struggle between the two nations was the use by the U.S of nuclear power, which made the Soviets initiate a marathon of nuclear arming, which in turn increased the problems between the two. Whatever the case, this power struggle between these two nations led to one of the biggest divisions in the world and it happened when, after the Great War, the Soviets, who had taken control of most of Germany and Berlin, decided to separate their portion of the city and country with the creation of a huge mortar and brick wall in 1961. This became known as the Great Berlin Wall. This Wall became the paragon and clearest evidence of the division and conflict that was arising once again. But after several revolutions took place in 1989, especially Hungary and Poland against Communist control, the people in Eastern Germany decided to rise as well and in June 1990 up until almost 1992 the demolition of the Wall began. This event showed the shift that President Reagan was asking for, the decision to accept democracy and adopt a more open policy for the sake of peace and the wellbeing of the people.

Answer 2

According to Gaddis, neither the US nor the Soviet Union was solely or primarily responsible for igniting the Cold War; rather, both behaved as major powers striving to safeguard their security and interests.

What was Cold War and why?

The Cold War was the explicit but restricted rivalry that occurred after World War II between the United States and the Soviet Union, along with their relative allies.

The Cold War was battled often on political, economic, and propaganda aspects, with little employment of weapons.

The Cold War was so titled since neither the Soviet Union nor the United States publicly declared war on one other.

Thus, The cold war would be the correct event.

The relations between France and Germany, or Franco–German relations, form an integral part of the wider politics of Europe with both countries being founder and the main leading Member states of the European Union and its predecessor the European Communities since its inception in 1958 with the signing of the Treaty of Rome.

General relations between the two countries since 1871, according to Ulrich Krotz, have had three grand periods: 'hereditary enmity' (down to 1945), 'reconciliation' (1945–1963) and since 1963 the 'special relationship' embodied in a cooperation called Franco-German Friendship (French: Amitié franco-allemande; German: Deutsch-Französische Freundschaft).

In the context of the European Union, the cooperation between the two countries is immense and intimate. Even though France has at times been eurosceptical in outlook, especially under President Charles de Gaulle, Franco-German agreements and cooperations have always been key to furthering the ideals of European integration.

In recent times, France and Germany are among the most enthusiastic proponents of the further integration of the EU. They are sometimes described as the "twin engine" or "core countries" pushing for moves. A tram straddling the Franco-German border, across the river Rhine from Strasbourg to Kehl, was inaugurated on the 28th of April 2017 symbolizing the strength of relations between the two countries.

Which fact from the timeline best explains the economic climate during Harper Lee's early life?

Answers

Hello. You did not present the timeline, after researching Harper Lee's biography, we can see that she has gone through the years of the great depression and the economic recovery of the USA. With that, we can infer that she lived under a negative climate of the population in relation to the economy, because people were unmotivated in relation to economic policies and had many uncertainties about what was going to happen. During attempts at economic recovery, she also witnessed a climate of hope, but also uncertainty about how the country would rise.

What distinguished patricians from plebeians in
Roman society?

Answers

Answer: I think birth.

Explanation:

I‘m not sure but I only think so.

The Patricians were a powerful political elite made up of rich male landowners. The bulk of the population were plebeians, a lower class than the Patricians.

Roman society was split into the patricians and the plebeians during the reign of the Roman Kingdom and the Roman Republic.

The patricians originally belonged to the governing class and had more privileges and rights than the plebeians. The division between patrician and plebeian, however, became less significant after the Conflict of the Orders since the plebeians (at least the wealthiest among them) could now aspire to political authority.Rich male landowners made up the strong political class known as the Patricians. Plebeians, a class under the Patricians, made up the majority of the population.
