4. Driving home from school one day, you spot a ball rolling out in the street. You brake for 1.20 s, slowing your 950 kg car from 16 m/s to 9.5 m/s. a. What was the average force exerted on your car during braking

Answers

Answer 1

As stated in the preceding statement When braking, an automobile experiences an average force of 5,145.8 N.

Describe acceleration:

An object is considered to have been pushed if its velocity changes. Depending on whether an item is moving faster, slower, or in a new direction, its velocity may change. Examples of acceleration include a falling fruit, the moon orbiting the earth, and an automobile that has stopped at a stop sign.

v = v o + a t  ( the acceleration will be negative )

9.50 = 16.0 + a * 1.2

a * 1.2 = -16.0 + 9.50

a * 1.2 = - 6.5

a = - 6.5 : 1.2

a = - 5.4167 m/s²

F = m * a

950 kg * 5.4167 m/s²

F = 5,145.8 N ( the average force exerted on a car during braking )

An electric heater draws a constant current of 6 amp, with an applied voltage of 220 V, for 24 h. Determine the instantaneous electric power provided to the heater, in kW

Answers

The instantaneous electric power provided to the heater will be 1.32 kW.

Electric power can be defined as the rate by which an electric circuit transfers the electrical energy. An electric heater is drawing a constant current which is equal to 6 ampere with an applied voltage of 220 volts for a duration of 24 hours.

To calculate the instantaneous power supplied to the electric heater,

Power = Voltage × Current

P = V × I

P = 220 × 6

P = 1320 W

What is the formula of 3 law of motion?

Answers

The three laws of motion, as described by Sir Isaac Newton, are as follows:

Every object in a state of uniform motion will remain in that state of motion unless an external force acts on it. This is known as the law of inertia.

The force acting on an object is equal to the mass of that object multiplied by its acceleration. This is known as Newton's second law of motion, and is often represented by the equation F = ma.

For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. This is known as Newton's third law of motion.

Newton's laws of motion are fundamental principles that describe the physical behavior of objects in motion. The first law, the law of inertia, states that an object at rest will remain at rest, and an object in motion will continue in motion with a constant velocity, unless acted upon by a net external force. The second law of motion, states that the acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the net force acting on the object, and inversely proportional to its mass. The third law states that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

When a particle is heated, its temperature will rise and the particle will move fast because it gains kinetic energy. Mechanics sometimes use a piece of pipe to lengthen the handle of a wrench when trying to remove a very tight bolt. How does this make it easier for the mechanic to remove the bolt

Answers

Answer:

increase the length of the handle from the bolt, the torque will increase even if you have the same force

Explanation:

It allows them to apply more torque to the bolt. Torque is the turning or twisting force that causes rotation, in this case, it's applied to the bolt in an effort to loosen it. By lengthening the handle of the wrench, the mechanic is able to leverage more of their body weight and strength behind the wrench, increasing the torque they are able to apply to the bolt.

When a bolt is very tight, it can be difficult to turn it with a standard wrench. The increased torque provided by the longer handle allows the mechanic to apply more force to the bolt, which can help to loosen it. This can be particularly useful in situations where the bolt is corroded, rusted, or otherwise stuck due to a buildup of debris or other factors.

Due to the surface makeup and the product that spilled, Downhill/Downwind is the direction most hazardous materials will spread based on their viscosity.

The viscosity of a fluid (liquid or gas) is its resistance to a change in form or movement of neighbouring sections relative to one another. Viscosity signifies resistance to flow. The SI unit is poiseiulle (PI).

It relates to the colloquial sense of "thickness" in liquids: syrup, for example, has a higher viscosity than water. The strength of the compensatory force is related to the viscosity of the fluid in a tube with a constant rate of flow.

In general, viscosity is affected by the condition of a fluid, such as temperature, pressure, and rate of deformation. However, in certain circumstances, the reliance on some of these features is minor. The viscosity of a Newtonian fluid, for example, does not vary appreciably with the rate of deformation. Since the body is dropped from a height, it initially has no velocity. As it falls, it will accelerate due to the force of gravity. The acceleration due to gravity is approximately 9.8 m/s^2.

After 3 seconds, the velocity of the body will be 3*9.8 = 29.4 m/s. The kinetic energy of the body will be:
KE = (3 kg) * (29.4 m/s)^2 / 2 = 849.56 J

This is the kinetic energy of the body after 3 seconds of falling.
