Answer 1

Answer:

Explain, in a paragraph of your own words, what you consider to be the “#1 Cost of the American Civil War.”

I think that the number one cost of the conflict was economic. Just to think that 617,528 people died is not a good thought. Both the Union and the Confederate had to spend a lot of money. The Confederate states spent a lot of money on property damage and the Union lost a lot of human capital. Both the Confederacy and the Union also spent a lot of money on government expenditures. Also if you think about it both the north and south had to pay a lot of money for their troops. Combined they had a total of 2,638,797 soldiers. Imagine how much money you’ll need to pay all these soldiers. This is why I think that the number one cost of the war was economic.

Was the cost of the war higher for the North or the South? Be sure to consider the social, political, and economic effects of the war.

By far the Union’s cost was much higher than the Confederacy’s cost. First of all the Union had more troops so they would have to pay more also they lost more troops. Second, they lost the most human capital and had more government expenses. Third, all the slaves were freed, although this is a good thing all the rich people that used them to sell their products had lost all of their employees. Fourth, there were many states that did not vote because they seceded. Also, everyone disagreed about the future because if everyone thought that only 1 candidate was right then the election would not be as close as it was. In conclusion, the Union had a much larger cost because of the war.

What was a characteristic of plantations in southern society?

They only consisted of farmland, which meant that the owners needed to go into cities to get food and clothing. The 9/11 attacks, also referred to as 9/11, were four coordinated terrorist attacks on the United States on September 11, 2001, carried out by the militant Islamist extremist network al-Qaeda. 19 terrorists from Al Qaeda hijacked four passenger jets in the United States on the morning of September 11, 2001.

The World Trade Centre Twin structures in New York City were struck by two planes, which led to the collapse of both structures. Just outside of Washington, DC, the Pentagon was struck by the crash of a third jet. After the passengers and crew attacked the terrorists on board, the fourth plane crashed in a rural area of Pennsylvania, avoiding a second target that was allegedly the White House.

In the 1980s, US foreign policy moved away from the détente approach of President Nixon. President Reagan believed that the Soviet Union had
manipulated détente to benefit themselves and limit the United States. He decided to radically increase defense spending in order to build up
the US military so that the country would be able to more actively contain the Soviet Union. Although supported by many, this increase in
spending angered some who felt that too many public services suffered from having their funds diverted.

Explanation:

The main goal of the US foreign policy during the presidency of Ronald Reagan (1981–1989) was winning the Cold War and the rollback of communism—which was achieved in the Revolutions of 1989 in Eastern Europe during 1989; in the German reunification in 1990; and in the Dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991. Historians debate whom to credit, and how much. They agree that victory in the Cold War made the U.S. the world's only superpower, one with good relations with former Communist regimes in Russia and Eastern Europe.
